Biography

Chelsea kindled her passion for painting by spending her youth mesmerized with the natural beauty and mystery found outdoors. Her career in the fine arts grew from a classical background in atelier style instruction that later expanded into surrealist concepts through intensive programs at a variety of art institutions, including CalArts and UCLA.

Her current style of stippling and watercolor painting emerged while living in Indonesia, deeply inspired by the incredible attention to detail shown in many of its cultural expressions.

Chelsea carries a profound adoration for the softness of the female form juxtaposed with nature's wildness. Her work explores the concept that through the stripping of all that is material, and stepping into our most simple and rugged roots, the cycles of birth, death, and regrowth can be reclaimed.
